Inspired by AIGA's campaign, #CATCALLOUT is a design campaign created to combat street harassment.
Between October 2016 and December 2016, I collected real stories of street harassment from women in Greensboro, NC, and I then compiled these stories into brochures. The brochures were perforated so that each story could be torn out and function as its own card. These cards were designed to be left in public places (coffee shops, libraries, etc.) to further spread awareness of what the reality of street harassment looked like for women in the local community. The front panel of each brochure defined street harassment and provided resources for those experiencing it.
I also created posters that incorporate defense mechanisms women commonly employ when in public to further spread awareness of the impact street harassment has on the lives of women.
Created using Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe InDesign CC.
